Quarteto Vivence formed in 1979 in Salvador, Bahia, originally calling themselves Grupo Vivencial. The group had four members: Áurea Martins on vocals, Hamilton de Oliveira on vocals and guitar, Luiz Flávio on bass, and Flávio Sampaio on percussion. They put out their first album, simply titled 'Quarteto Vivence,' in 1983.
Their second album, 'O Gigante e a Formiga,' came out the following year and included the song 'Sou Criança.' That track became their most recognizable work, a staple of children's music in Brazil. The group disbanded in 1989 but reunited in 2003 to record the album 'Nova Roda.'
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
