A São Paulo band blending samba, electronica, and rock since the early 2000s.
For a good sense of their sound, try O Criador or Meu Mundo. Both have that mix of Brazilian roots and psychedelic touches.
Quarto Mágico's music pulls from Brazilian rhythms and experimental sounds in a way that feels both grounded and exploratory. A song like O Criador shows their knack for layered arrangements and introspective lyrics, while their debut album Antes de um Mês mixed samba with electronica and psychedelic rock. They've drawn comparisons to Bjork and Caetano Veloso, but they've always worked in their own lane.
They formed in São Paulo in the early 2000s, playing underground clubs and alternative festivals. Their first album, Antes de um Mês, came out in 2006, followed by Jardins da Babilônia in 2009, Pássaros in 2012, and Pérolas que o Mar Joga Fora in 2015.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
