Quase Tóxico started playing in Rio de Janeiro, drawing from samba and punk. Their song 'Bob Dog' got attention for its satirical take on Brazilian society. They also recorded tracks like 'Fogo No Puteiro' and 'Sequestro'.
The band included João "Jão" Paulo on vocals, Pedro "Pedrinho" Costa on guitar, Bernardo "Berno" Silva on bass, and Paulo "Paulinho" Almeida on drums. Their first album was called 'Somos Quase Tóxicos,' followed by others like 'Diga Não aos Que Dizem Não' and 'Tá Tudo Errado.'
Their lyrics sometimes drew criticism for being provocative. They kept performing live and built a following that way.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
