Quatrocantos formed in Rio de Janeiro in 2003 with Marisa Monte, Carlinhos Brown, Arnaldo Antunes, and Pedro Luis. Their self-titled debut album came out the following year, mixing bossa nova and samba with folk touches. The track "Lívia" from that record caught on as a particularly resonant ballad.
Antunes left the group in 2009, and Quatrocantos continued with various guest musicians. They've put out other albums that brought in jazz and electronic elements, and have worked with artists like Caetano Veloso. Songs such as "Marina" and "Assunto de Nós Dois" are part of their catalog.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
