Archive material and source history
Quebraditos formed in Mexico City with a lineup that included Enrique "Kike" González on vocals and songwriting, Marco "El Gato" Gutiérrez on guitar, Francisco "El Güero" Rodríguez on bass, Juan Carlos "El Cheché" Hernández on drums, and José Luis "El Güero" Ibarra on accordion. Their sound pulled from traditional Mexican music while incorporating more contemporary rhythms.
Their debut album "Quebraditos" came out in 1999 and featured the song "Salgo a Caminar," which became their most recognizable track. Other songs like "No Quiero Salir," "Nunca fui muy popular," and "Carro Viejo" also appeared in their catalog.
They released several more albums including "La Recompensa" in 2001, "El Mundo de los Quebraditos" in 2003, and "Homenaje a Juan Gabriel" in 2008. In 2010, González was arrested for drunk driving, an incident the band addressed publicly.
