Quebrapedais formed in Salvador, Bahia in 1984, playing reggae at a time when the genre wasn't widely heard in Brazil. Their debut album 'Venha Ver' came out in 1989 and included the song 'Arco-Íris,' which helped bring them national attention. The band's lineup included singer Valter Farias, guitarist Carlos de Assis, keyboardist Ebéu, bassist Paulo César, and drummer João Bosco.
They followed with albums like 'Reggae Brasil' in 1991 and 'Jammin' in Jamaica' in 1995.
Quebrapedais kept recording into the 2000s, putting out 'Jah Bless' in 2002. Their music helped introduce reggae rhythms to Brazilian audiences during the 1990s and early 2000s.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
