Questafinta formed in Milan in the early 1980s around Vincenzo Tortora and Andrea Perini. They started with a small following while working with experimental sounds that didn't fit neatly into mainstream Italian music at the time.
Their 1983 debut album included 'Banco Da Lambreta,' a song that became their most recognizable track. The band's sound had a certain atmospheric quality that drew listeners in, even as some critics found their lyrics difficult to parse.
They released a few more albums through the 1980s, including 'Anomalia' in 1985 and 'Pane Nero' in 1988. Other songs like 'Déa' and 'For All' show the range of their work during that period. The lineup changed at times, with Tortora on vocals and guitar, Perini on bass, and Roberto Saracco on drums at various points.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
