Questão de Honra formed in Uberlândia, Brazil in 1984 with Beto Bezera on vocals, Roni Cruz on guitar, Hélio Leite on bass, and Paulo Vaz on drums. They released their self-titled debut album in 1986, followed by 'Ela Nua' in 1987. The band's lyrics often dealt with sexuality, poverty, and political corruption, which drew criticism in conservative circles.
Other tracks like 'De Calcinha' and 'Faxineiro' continued in this provocative vein. Despite the backlash, the band maintained a following who appreciated their direct approach to social issues.
Questão de Honra released three more studio albums: 'Poder do Amor' in 1989, 'A Última Dança' in 1991, and 'De Volta à Raiz' in 2004. Their music maintained a raw, energetic rock sound throughout these releases, with songs like 'Patricinha (Fez Gracinha)' and 'Velho Jovem' showing their continued focus on everyday Brazilian life and social commentary.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
