Quick and the Dead formed in 1986, originally called Beyond Sunset. The band was started by vocalist Kevin Gilbert and guitarist Robert Holmes, with Tony Smith on bass. Their debut album 'World Gone Wild' came out in 1989, featuring the song 'We Are' that became their breakthrough track.

They released four studio albums between 1989 and 1997, including 'The Pale' in 1991 and 'Flood' in 1995. Their songs like 'Aim To Destroy' and 'Bruised And Bleeding' showed their range from anthemic rock to more introspective material. The band toured extensively during their active years.

Quick and the Dead disbanded in 1999. Their music continues to be heard through songs like 'Faded Memories' and 'All Screwed Up' that remain in their catalog.
