His 1995 album "Tierra de Sueños" included the song "La Volvedora," which became his most recognized track. The song deals with themes of longing and unrequited love. Ponce's vocal style has been noted for its soulful intonations and expressive vibrato.
In 2004, he had a legal dispute with his former record label over the rights to his music. He continued releasing albums, including "Alma Gitana" in 2006 and "El Último Adiós" in 2014.
