Quixote formed in Los Angeles in the early 1990s, with Dom as the frontman. Their music pulled from grunge, shoegaze, and psychedelic rock, and they built a following with lyrics that felt introspective and socially aware. The 1995 album 'Dom' gave them a breakthrough, with the title track becoming a kind of anthem for its themes of loss and redemption.
After that, the band went through some lineup changes and took breaks, partly due to internal conflicts. Dom's outspokenness on politics and social issues also stirred debate. They kept recording, though, putting out albums like 'Echoes of the Past' in 1998 and 'The Painted Bird' in 2003, which showed a shift toward more experimental sounds. Songs like 'Sol Em Escorpião' and 'San' came later in their catalog.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
