RAAH formed in Brazil in the early 2000s with Rafael Castro on vocals, Felipe Machado and Henrique Pucci on guitars, Rafael Carvalho on bass, and Gustavo "Guga" Costa on drums. Their debut album "Sintonize" came out in 2004, mixing heavy metal and hardcore with rap and funk elements. The title track got some mainstream radio play.
Their 2008 album included the song "Até O Osso," which became one of their most recognized tracks. They kept releasing albums through the 2010s, like "Pra Quem Diz que Aqui É Lugar de Bandido" in 2011 and "O Mundo que Eu Quero" in 2017. Another song, "Boco Loko," appears among their top material.
RAAH's lyrics often dealt with political and social issues, which sometimes brought them into conflict with authorities. In 2011, they faced legal trouble over a song that criticized a government official. They continued playing despite these challenges.
