Rabo de Galo formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1984, with Flávio Venturini on guitar and vocals, Marcelo Sussekind on bass, and Luizão Maia on drums. They released their first album in 1985 and put out several more over the next few decades, including 'Além do Azul' in 1987 and 'Por Dentro' in 2010.
Their song 'Eu Sou o Céu, Você é o Luar' became particularly well-known. In 2013, there were unproven accusations that it resembled an Italian hit called 'Ti Amo.' The band took a break around 1997 but came back together in 2004.
Other tracks like 'Eu Amo Você,' 'Tirei de Letra,' and 'Só Outra Paixão' also appear in their catalog. Their music often blended MPB and samba with other influences.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
