Rachelle Ann Go first gained attention in 2004 when she won the third season of the Philippine singing competition Star in a Million. She was born in Manila in 1986 and started singing early, influenced by her parents. Her debut album 'Songs of Hope' came out in 2007, and she's recorded songs like 'Dance Again' and 'Love Of My Life'.
In 2014, she became the first Filipina to play the lead role of Gigi Van Tranh in the West End production of 'Miss Saigon,' which earned her an Olivier Award nomination for Best Actress in a Musical. That same year, she had surgery for a vocal cord polyp but returned to performing after recovery.
She later took a role in the U.S. production of 'Hamilton,' which drew some criticism back home, though she explained it as a chance to pursue opportunities abroad. She's married to German actor and singer Martin Spies, and they've performed together and released a duet album called 'Together.'
