Racija

Racija formed in the former Yugoslavia in the late 1970s, with Dušan Kojić on vocals, Nebojša Antonijević on guitar, Srđan Gojković on bass, and Ivan Vdović on drums. They put out their first album in 1979 and followed it with records like 'Ništa Novo' and 'Dobar Predsednik' over the next few years. Their sound was raw and direct, a kind of punk that felt urgent in that place at that time.

Their song 'Dobr Predcednik', the title track from their 1981 album, became particularly well-known for its sharp, critical lyrics. It wasn't the only one; tracks like 'Haen' and 'Hän' carried a similar energy. The band's performances and material sometimes ran into trouble with authorities, which wasn't uncommon for groups playing that style of music in the region during that period.

They kept recording through the early 1980s, releasing albums such as 'Naša Stvar' and 'Ratne Igre'. The music held a straightforward, confrontational quality that connected with listeners who were drawn to punk's simpler, more aggressive approach. Racija's work from that era remains part of the story of how that sound took root in the Balkans.
