Raciocinio Pesado formed in São Paulo in the early 2000s with Diego Andrade on vocals and guitar, André Telles on bass, and Gabriel dos Santos on drums. They started playing local festivals and bars, working through the usual financial constraints that come with getting a band off the ground.
Their debut album 'Deixe Entrar' came out in 2008, followed by 'Se Eu Tivesse Evitado' in 2010. The title track from that second album became something of an anthem for them. They've since released three more studio albums: 'Cores Vivas' in 2013, 'Perto do Céu' in 2017, and 'Vida Passageira' in 2021.
Their performance at Rock in Rio in 2014 drew some criticism from conservative groups over lyrics, though that didn't seem to slow them down much. The lineup has stayed consistent with Andrade, Telles, and dos Santos.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
