Radiação formed in São Paulo in 1987 with Zéfa on vocals, Eddie Silva on guitar, Ronaldo Testoni on bass, and Paulinho on drums. They came together around punk rock and a shared frustration with Brazil's political climate at the time.
Their 1991 debut album included the song "Eu Já Sei," which became one of their most recognizable tracks. That record helped establish them nationally, and they followed it with albums like "Clássicos do Rock Nacional" in 1993 and "A Vida Não Presta" in 1995.
In 1989, authorities arrested the band and canceled a show after they performed a song critical of the government. Their music often dealt with social injustice and political themes, as heard in songs like "Vitórias e falhas" and "Quebre o elo."
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
