To build my own defenses for this hostile environment

Starting with the future and then moving on to better things

A holocaust handshake, I pitch it for impossible

Ignorant enough to handle bliss in its entirety

Computers come to life, a birth inside a monitor

Umbilical the plastic covering, gold and copper wiring

A sea of random numbers, a world of ones and zeroes

It's only been a day but I already miss the trees

A white on white room

Filling the hole

Of where a window would normally stand

A faux fur coat

Void of any color or comfort
