Radiovox formed in Brazil in 1996, with DJ Mauro Henrich and vocalist Carol Baffi at the core. Their self-titled debut album came out the following year, mixing dance beats with more reflective lyrics on tracks like "Faded" and "White Room." It was a straightforward start for a group that would later become known for bigger, more polished singles.
In 2000, their second album "Living the Life" included "Olhar Nos Olhos," which became a major hit in Brazil and found listeners internationally. The song's melody was catchy, and its lyrics about love and longing connected with audiences. Around this time, they also released "Sete Luas," another track that showed their blend of electronic production and soulful vocals.
Carol Baffi left the band in 2003, which led to some uncertainty about their direction. They kept working, putting out the album "Enigma" in 2004 and "On the Radio" in 2012. Their music sometimes drew criticism for explicit lyrics, but they maintained it was just part of how they approached modern relationships in their songs.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
