Radix is a Japanese heavy metal band that came up through Tokyo's underground scene. Their debut album 'Ignite the Fire' came out in 2010, and they've put out several records since then, including 'The Crimson Tide' in 2012 and 'Ascendance' in 2019.
Their song 'Battle Against a True Hero' became particularly well-known. It's one of several tracks they've released that show their mix of heavy guitar work with melodic elements, alongside others like 'Your Best Nightmare' and 'Asgore's Theme'.
The band's lineup changed in 2015 when original vocalist Akira Tanaka left. They continued with Ren Sato on vocals, alongside guitarist Kaito Nakamura, bassist Hiroki Suzuki, and drummer Takumi Kobayashi.
At one point, some of Radix's music was used in a video game that drew criticism, though the band maintained that their work stood apart from any specific project.
