A band that started in 2001 and later wrote the theme for Makoto Shinkai's animated film Suzume no Tojimari.
If you're new to them, start with Suzume for the film connection, then try Gakugeikai. That gives you both sides of what they do.
They're not just a rock band from the early 2000s. Their song Suzume (feat. Toaka) became the theme for Makoto Shinkai's 2022 film Suzume no Tojimari, which brought their sound to a different audience. You can hear their range in tracks like Gakugeikai and Nandemonaiya.
They formed in 2001 and put out albums like RADWIMPS 3: Remote Control in 2003 and RADWIMPS 4: Okazu no Gohan in 2006. Later records include Human Bloom in 2016 and Anti Anti Generation in 2018, with the Suzume theme arriving in 2022.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
