Rae Cassidy formed in London, with Casey Rae on vocals and songwriting alongside guitarist Jake Carter, bassist Ben Jones, and drummer Ethan Smith. Their sound drew from folk, indie, and alternative music. In 2015, they released their debut album 'Whispers of the Wind,' which included the song 'Bluebirds.'
'Bluebirds' became their breakout track, known for its haunting melody and introspective lyrics. The band followed with albums like 'Echoes of the Heart' and 'Songs from the Soul,' the latter incorporating some electronic elements into their folk foundation. Other songs in their catalog include 'Come Back,' 'Fear No More (Roar, Roar, Roar),' and 'Trapeze Machinery.'
In 2018, Rae Cassidy canceled a tour due to personal issues within the group. Casey Rae's lyrics sometimes drew attention for their directness. The band's work remained centered around Rae's songwriting and the group's collaborative instrumentation.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
