Rafasdube

Rafasdube came out of Salvador, Brazil, playing reggae with a social edge. Their song "Brisando No Conflito" became something of an anthem in the mid-90s, touching on themes of peace and resistance that resonated with listeners. The band's lyrics sometimes got them into trouble with authorities, but they kept at it, using their music to speak up for marginalized communities.

They put out albums like "Pra Frente Brasil" in 1999 and "Semente do Reggae" in 2004, sticking to their reggae roots while addressing Brazilian social issues. Other tracks like "Guarda Sol de Jah" and "Mensagem de Jah" carried their spiritual and political messages forward. The group included Rafa Lima on vocals and guitar, Duda Santana on bass, Giba Eloi on drums, Felipe Costa on keyboards, and Lelo on percussion.

Their concerts often doubled as spaces for talking about human rights and environmental concerns, which earned them some recognition like the Chico Mendes Prize for Environmental Defense. They kept releasing music into the 2010s with albums such as "Acorda Brasil," maintaining their focus on social justice through reggae rhythms.
