A band that mixed reggae en español and reggaeton into a raw, community-driven sound.
For a quick sense of their sound, try "Meu Som" or "Maremoto." They're both good examples of that unpolished, energetic mix they built a following on.
Raghatoni's music came straight out of Panama City, where reggae and reggaeton rhythms were just part of the air. Their 2003 track "Boca de Motor" broke through with a beat and lyrics about relationships that listeners grabbed onto. Songs like "Meu Som" and "Tati" kept that energy going, blending reggae, reggaeton, and hip-hop into what some called Panamanian Flow.
Roberto "Raffy" Méndez and Renato "Nayo" Forte started the band in Panama City, making early music that drew some criticism but reflected their community. After "Boca de Motor" in 2003, they kept putting out tracks like "Botadinha" and "Maremoto," with Raffy on lead vocals and Nayo on vocals and guitar through lineup changes.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
