Raí Araújo comes from Aracaju, Brazil, and started with the local rhythms of forró and axé. He put out his first album, "Raízeira," in 2018, mixing those traditional sounds with pop. The track "Meu Bem," featuring Hanna Araújo, is one of his better-known songs.
In 2019, a video surfaced that showed him behaving inappropriately with a minor. Araújo apologized quickly afterward. He kept working after that, releasing songs like "Maré Mansa" and "Volta Pra Casa," and he's played with artists including Bell Marques, Xand Avião, and Leo Santana.
He performs with a band that has Danilo on bass, Anderson on drums, Josemar on guitar, and Robson on keyboard.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
