Raiva!!! formed in São Paulo in the late 1970s, part of that city's punk scene. Their first album came out in 1986, followed by records like 'As Cidades' and 'Pedra' over the next few years. The lineup included Rodrigo 'Digão' Fernandes on vocals, Roberto 'Zé Carlos' Barroso on bass, Sidney 'Sid' Mouthon on guitar, and Paulo Cesar 'PC' Silva on drums.
Their song 'Pé-de-xinélo' became one of their most well-known tracks. Its lyrics addressed social inequality and government authority, which led to some trouble with officials at the time. The band's shows sometimes drew police attention, and their music wasn't played much on radio or television.
In 2003, Raiva!!! played a 15th anniversary show. That concert turned violent when a fan died in a crowd surge, resulting in arrests of some organizers. The band released a live album that year called 'Raiva 15 Anos'.
