Ramiro e Alessandro

Ramiro dos Santos and Alessandro Alves started playing together in Brasília around 2004, mostly doing covers of other Brazilian artists. They wrote their own material soon enough, and in 2008 they put out "Queijo e Goiabada." That song caught on quickly, with its lighthearted lyrics and straightforward rhythm making it a staple at parties and on the radio.

They followed that up with albums like Ritmo Bom in 2010 and Samba de Verão in 2013. Other songs like "60 Dias Apaixonado" and "Coisa Mais Gostosa" kept their sound in rotation, sticking to the kind of upbeat, accessible Brazilian pop that worked for them from the start.

Ramiro handles vocals and guitar, Alessandro sings and plays percussion. They've kept at it steadily, putting out records every few years into the late 2010s. Their music doesn't try to reinvent anything, it's just cheerful, uncomplicated stuff that people seem to like.
