Ramm

Ramm formed in East Berlin in 1994, coming together in what was still a divided city just a few years after the Wall came down. Their early sound pulled from industrial music and German folk traditions, with lyrics sung entirely in German. The band's lineup has stayed consistent: Till Lindemann on vocals, Richard Kruspe and Paul Landers on guitars, Oliver Riedel on bass, Christoph Schneider on drums, and Christian "Flake" Lorenz on keyboards.

Their live shows became known for elaborate pyrotechnics and theatrical staging, which sometimes drew criticism alongside their lyrics. Songs like "Wonder Nanda" showcase their blend of heavy guitar riffs, electronic textures, and Lindemann's distinctive baritone delivery. They've maintained a specific visual and musical identity that doesn't easily fit into broader metal trends.

While often categorized as industrial metal, their music incorporates elements that feel more rooted in European traditions than American industrial scenes. The consistency in their approach has built a dedicated international following over decades, with their German-language lyrics remaining central rather than adapting for wider markets.
