Raphael Blini is a Brazilian singer whose song "É preciso saber viver" became something of an anthem. It's one of those tracks that seems to find people when they need it, with its straightforward message about getting through life. He put out his first album in 2010, and that song was on it.
Other songs like "Só os Loucos sabem" and "Tudo Pode Acontecer" have a similar directness. They're not overly complicated, just melodic pop with lyrics that feel conversational. He works with a band that includes Marcos Degani on bass and Daniel Guedes on drums.
He's released several albums since that debut, including Viva in 2013 and O Lado Bom da Vida in 2015. The music doesn't try to reinvent Brazilian pop so much as deliver it in a clear, unadorned way. There was some talk about personal troubles at one point, but his songs kept coming.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
