Rasta Dub formed in the early 1990s in Kingston, Jamaica. Their debut album "Quando Eu Era Pequeno" came out in 1993, with the title track becoming one of their best-known songs. The band included vocalist Cherine Anderson, frontman Mykal Rose, saxophonist Dean Fraser, and drummer Sly Dunbar.
Their 1996 album "1865" addressed the Morant Bay Rebellion in Jamaica, which drew both criticism and support. The band continued releasing albums through the 2000s, including "Simpatia" among their popular tracks.
Rasta Dub's music often dealt with social and political themes while working within reggae traditions. They performed at events like Rototom Sunsplash and kept recording into the 2010s.
