Raury

Raury Tullis, who goes by just Raury, came up in Atlanta with a sound that mixed soul, folk, and hip-hop. His 2014 debut single "God's Whisper" got attention for its airy feel and thoughtful lyrics. He was a teenager dealing with family issues and homelessness around that time, and those experiences gave his music a raw, personal quality.

His first album, 2015's Indigo Child, blended soulful melodies with introspective writing. Later records like All We Need from 2019 and Strawberry Moon from 2022 showed him exploring more experimental territory, touching on spirituality and self-discovery. Songs like "Devil's Whisper" and "Cigarette Song" from his catalog have that same mix of folk instrumentation and hip-hop rhythm.

Raury has mostly worked as a solo artist but has collaborated with producers like Kaytranada, who helped shape the R&B and funk elements on Strawberry Moon. He's kept an independent approach to his music, which has sometimes meant friction with industry expectations.
