Raya Real formed in Madrid in 1989, playing local clubs before releasing their debut album 'A Ritmo de Bolero' the following year. Their second album, 'El Ritmo de mi Vida,' came out in 1991 and included the track 'Bamboleo,' which became their most recognizable song.
The band's lineup included Manuel Martos on vocals, Rafael Ruíz on guitar, Antonio García on percussion, and Juan Antonio Jiménez on keyboards. They also recorded songs like 'Aquellas Corraleras de Triana' and 'Los Buenos Momentos' during this period.
After 'Bamboleo' gained attention internationally, some listeners questioned their approach to Latin rhythms within Spanish music. The group continued performing and recording through the early 1990s.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
