Rayak Cardoso

Rayak Cardoso formed in São Paulo in 2006. The band's name comes from its vocalist and songwriter, who leads a group that includes guitarist and producer Pedro Graeff, bassist and vocalist Bruno Prado, and drummer João Decola.

Their 2010 album 'Caos' gives a sense of their approach, with its title track becoming something of a signature piece. The music draws from Brazilian rhythms, electronic textures, and rock energy, though it avoids easy fusion.

Another track, 'Fato / Se Ontem Você Fosse Verdade, Hoje Eu Não Seria Tristeza', shows their tendency toward longer, more declarative song titles. Their lyrics often engage with social and political themes, which has sometimes drawn strong reactions.
