Razor Key Exit

Razor Key Exit formed in Sweden during the mid-1990s, around the time the country's black metal scene was taking shape. The band's early material had a raw, intense quality that showed clear influences from acts like Bathory and Darkthrone. They eventually released albums such as 'The Disgusting,' 'Tides of Chaos,' and 'Abyssal Hymns of Sorrow.'

Their sound shifted somewhat over time, picking up elements of doom metal and progressive black metal while keeping much of its original aggression. They covered Bathory's 'For All Those Who Died' at one point, which fits with where they started. The lineup changed occasionally, with members like drummer Morbid and guitarist Draugluin passing through.

Razor Key Exit toured in Europe and the United States, building a reputation as a serious live act. Their lyrics and stage presence sometimes drew criticism from conservative groups, and they were loosely associated with other Swedish black metal bands that faced scrutiny in the 1990s. They worked with a few notable guest musicians from that circle, but the core of their music remained their own.
