Razor Project formed in Seattle in 2002, with Ethan James on vocals and guitar, Chris Carter on guitar, Ben Meyer on bass, and Jake Davis on drums. They released their debut EP 'Echoes' in 2004, followed by their first full-length album 'Our Time Is Gone' in 2006. The title track from that album became their most recognized song.
Their music dealt with themes of loss and regret, delivered with what some described as raw emotional intensity. The band faced challenges including canceled shows and periods of inactivity, which some attributed to James's personal struggles.
They released two more albums, 'The Shadow' in 2008 and 'Unfinished Business' in 2012, before disbanding in 2015. Their catalog includes those four releases, with 'Our Time Is Gone' remaining the most familiar to listeners who followed alternative rock in the mid-2000s.
