Razorback

Razorback came out of San Francisco in the early 2000s with a heavy rock sound that pulled from grunge and metal. John Zito handled vocals, and the band's early lineup included guitarist Darin Applegate, who later left. Their debut EP was self-titled, and their second album, "Take Me to the Other Side," got them wider attention. Songs like "A Good Day to Die" and "Big City Jungle" carried that mix of aggression and melody.

They kept recording through the 2000s, putting out albums like "Emerge," "Strength," and "Shotgun Alley." The lyrics often leaned into social or political themes, which sometimes stirred debate. The lineup shifted over time, with Ryan Evil and Gabe Lopez on guitar, Mike Perez on drums, and Charlie Cachola on bass at various points.

By the end of the decade, they had built a following that stuck with them through the changes. Their music didn't soften much, tracks like "Bastard" and "Criminal Justice" kept the edge. They were one of those bands that worked steadily without breaking into the mainstream, holding onto a sound that felt rooted in that early-2000s rock scene.
