Razorblade Kisses put out their first album Shadowplay in 2003, which included the track 'Ballerina.' The band's lineup featured Ava Gore on vocals, Dylan Black on guitar, Marcus Veil on bass, and Ethan Shadow on drums. They released several more albums over the next decade and a half, including Elegy in 2006, Requiem in 2009, Ashes in 2013, and Echoes in 2017.
'Ballerina' became their most recognized song, a slow, atmospheric piece with Gore's vocals floating over the arrangement. The band's sound tended toward the moody and atmospheric, drawing from gothic rock and electronica textures. They maintained a consistent presence in that space rather than chasing mainstream attention.
Razorblade Kisses stopped recording and performing together in 2018. Their catalog, anchored by songs like 'Ballerina,' remains available for listeners who gravitate toward that particular shade of dark, ethereal rock.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
