Razziel formed in the early 2000s with vocalist and guitarist Elian de Kerpoent, bassist Vincent Roca, and drummer Sylvain Bossu. They had trouble getting record deals and radio play at first, partly because their music didn't fit neatly into existing categories. Their debut album 'In Search of the Lost Maps' came out in 2006.
