Razzy formed in London in the late 1960s, led by Richard "Razzy" Bailey. Their sound mixed pop, rock, and psychedelic elements, and they developed a reputation for energetic live shows.
In 1971, they released their debut album "Grandiloquence," which included the track "Pomp and Circumstance." That song became widely known for its melodic horns and anthemic quality. The band's catalog also includes songs like "Insanity" and "Noturno."
Razzy faced internal conflicts and lineup changes in the mid-1970s, leading to a hiatus. Bailey remained the central figure through various reunions in later decades. The group's recordings from their active years continue to surface in collections and reissues.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
