Realidade em Chamas formed in Rio de Janeiro in the late 1980s, with Paulo Ricardo on vocals and guitar. Their debut album 'Frente a Frente' came out in 1988, and its track 'Faces de Você' became a hit. The band's sound mixed rock with samba and reggae, and their lyrics often touched on social and political themes.
They kept recording through the 1990s, putting out albums like 'Brasil Brasileiro' in 1993 and 'Relicário' in 1997. Other songs like 'Hoje Eu Vi' and 'Inconsciente' also found an audience. The lineup changed over time, with Marcelo Bonfá on drums and Chico Amaral on bass appearing in the early years.
By the early 2000s, they'd released 'A Culpa É Minha' and had been playing for over a decade. Their music stayed grounded in that blend of styles they started with, even as members came and went.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
