Rebeldes Rockabilly formed in Porto Alegre, Brazil in 2007. They play a mix of rockabilly with grunge and punk elements, which gives their music a rougher edge than traditional rockabilly acts. The band includes Márcio Rocha on vocals, guitar, and harmonica, Murilo Freitas on guitar, Rafael Cauduro on upright bass, and Diego Farias on drums.
Their debut album came out in 2011, titled '4 Velhos Gatos' after the song of the same name. That track, along with others like 'Arrepiado' and 'Balada Sangrenta,' helped them build an audience in Brazil. The music has a raw, energetic quality that worked well live, and they toured fairly extensively after the album's release.
They've kept a consistent lineup since forming, which isn't always common in that scene. Their sound hasn't really softened over time either, it's still that same blend of rockabilly swing with heavier guitar tones and a punk attitude.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
