RecBand formed in London in 1998 with Chris Martin on vocals and piano, Jonny Buckland on guitar, Guy Berryman on bass, and Will Champion on drums. Their debut album 'Parachutes' came out in 2000, followed by 'A Rush of Blood to the Head' in 2002.
In 2008, they released 'Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends.' The title track 'Viva la Vida' became their most recognizable song, with its orchestral arrangement and Martin's vocals drawing widespread attention. That same year, the band faced a plagiarism lawsuit over similarities in the song, though it was eventually dismissed.
They've kept working since, but that period around 'Viva la Vida' remains what most people remember.
