Receive formed in São Paulo in 2005 around vocalist Cristiana de Souza, with André Brasil on drums, Bruno Kay on guitar, and Fábio Ostinelli on bass. Their debut album '4 Lados do Medo' came out in 2009, with the title track becoming a notable piece in their catalog. They followed with four more studio albums: 'Pandora' in 2012, 'Obscure' in 2014, 'Requiem' in 2016, and 'Fim'.

Their music often dealt with heavy themes like fear and mental states, heard in songs like 'Incapaz de Acordar' and 'Lembranças de Nós Dois'.
