Reckoning Hour formed in 2005 with Elysian Nightfall on vocals, Damien Shadowbane on guitar, Ethan Graves on drums, and Celeste Moonstone on bass. Their debut album 'Shadows of the Abyss' came out in 2007, followed by 'Whispers of the Damned' and 'Ashes of the Fallen.'
Their songs like 'Away From The Sun' and 'Scars' work with gothic rock textures and ambient touches. Nightfall's vocals give the material an ethereal quality that sits alongside the band's darker lyrical themes.
Some listeners found their approach unconventional, but they kept making music that leaned into atmospheric rock. Tracks such as 'Misguided' and 'Catharsis' show how they built on that sound without smoothing out its edges.
