Driving down a dusty highway

Making all the dirt fly and the sky yellow

The sun oh how it beats her down to a welcomed low

A renegade at twenty*four

And the mustang at ninety-five

The sand between her teeth it tells her she’s still alive

So she smiles and sings

Mexico ain’t quite that far down south

Never had to hear the sirens

Just the heartbeat of a lonely road

The promise on the red horizon

So close and making off with all the money

Made her wanted in a town or two

But danger ain’t your middle name
