They started playing small clubs around town, working out a sound that mixed heavy rock with various world music rhythms.
Their debut album 'Primal Instincts' came out in 1986 and included the track 'Crazy Monkeys From The Jungle,' which became their most recognizable song. They followed it with albums like 'Jungle Fever' in 1988 and 'Spirit Warriors' in 1990. Another song people remember is 'Pixono,' which appeared on one of their later records.
Their music sometimes drew criticism from conservative groups who took issue with the lyrical themes. The band kept recording and playing through the 1990s, putting out albums like 'Ritualistic' and 'Renaissance' before things quieted down.
