RedFoo was born Stefan Kendal Gordy in Los Angeles in 1975. His father is Motown founder Berry Gordy Jr., which gave him early exposure to the music industry. In 2006, he formed the electro-hop duo LMFAO with his nephew SkyBlu. Their 2009 debut album 'Party Rock' and the 2011 single 'Party Rock Anthem' brought them mainstream attention.
After LMFAO, RedFoo continued as a solo artist. He released tracks like 'New Thang' and 'Juicy Wiggle' that maintained the upbeat, dance-oriented style he was known for. He also collaborated with Stevie Wonder on 'Where The Sun Goes'.
His stage presence and lyrics sometimes drew criticism, but he kept making music that aimed for the dance floor. Songs like 'Let's Get Ridiculous' and 'Booty Man' followed the same party-ready template.
