Reflexos Evolutivos formed in São Paulo in 2001, with Rodrigo Amarante on vocals and guitar, Leonardo Barba on bass, and Daniel Baier on drums. They played a mix of rock, funk, and soul that didn't fit neatly into categories, which made it hard to get noticed beyond their local scene at first. They kept playing shows and building a following anyway.
In 2007, the song 'Olhos de Rubi' changed things. Its melody and lyrics got attention, both positive and negative, and pushed the band into wider recognition. Other songs like 'Colômbia' and 'Ódio Popular' also became part of their set.
They released albums starting with 'A Semente da Loucura' in 2003 and later 'Quarto Crescente' in 2012, showing some shift toward more experimental sounds. Along the way, they worked with musicians including Hermeto Pascoal and producer Kassin. The band stopped in 2017.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
