Regis Ribeiro

Regis Ribeiro came out of Paranavaí, Paraná with a guitar and a song called "Meu Gude Gude" that caught on in 1999. It was one of those tunes that just stuck, simple and direct, and it became his calling card.

He kept writing after that, putting out albums like Gude Gude, Meu Novo Gude, and Indignado. Songs like "Deusa do Sonho" and "Todo Meu Amor" showed he had more than one note to hit, working with a band that usually included his brother Bruno on guitar, Rodrigo Ferreira on bass, and Thiago Carvalho on drums.

There was some noise around him in the early 2000s, including an arrest in 2002 that was tied to his lyrics. He kept making music anyway, putting out self-titled work in 2009 and Vida Dupla in 2012. The sound stayed grounded in Brazilian rhythms, and the writing often leaned toward love and longing, like in "Conquistador Apaixonado" and "Desejo."
