Regula formed in Vienna in 2016 around Rene Kogler and Paulina Romanovsky. Their music started gaining attention in the city's underground scene, though it wasn't until 2018 that they had their breakout moment with 'Chauffeur,' a collaboration with German rapper GSON.
That track's particular blend of electronic production and haunting melody connected with listeners, and it became their most recognizable work. They followed it with two full-length albums, 'The Golden Hour' in 2019 and 'Sleeper' in 2021, along with other singles like '+ Uma Vez' and 'Casanova.'
While their core sound sits in electronic territory, their recordings show them working with different textures and collaborators, including Mavi Phoenix and TOYBLOID. The music tends to be atmospheric, built around synthesizers and layered vocals from both Kogler and Romanovsky.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
